DUSK OVER TUSCANY

Buonconvento, Italy, September — It is close to the final hour of a warm late summer day. After much searching, I plant myself on this tranquil hillside to wait for the last golden light of the evening. The fields below give off a soft green glow as the sun slowly sinks. The Tuscan hills turn hazy shades of pink and blue. I do not tire of shooting frame after frame, aiming for the peak sunset light, the perfect moment. It is exhilarating. A simple meal and wine await me, and then bed. Must be up before dawn again tomorrow.
